Quick answer: open the free certificate template in Altto Layout, type the name, the reason and the date, then save it as a print-ready PDF. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and nothing is uploaded.
Publisher is retired, but a certificate is still a five-minute job. This template is an A4 landscape certificate with a border, a heading, a line for the name and a line for the signature. We drew it ourselves, so you can use it for anything: school awards, club prizes, course completion, thank-you certificates.
How to make your certificate
- Click Open the certificate template. The editor opens with the certificate already on the page.
- Double-click any text to change it: the title, the name, the reason and the date. Fonts and colours are in the side panel.
- Need more than one? Change the name, save a PDF, and repeat. For a whole class, keep one copy per person.
- Choose PDF to save a copy to print on A4, or PNG/JPG to put it in an email or a slide.
Printing tips
- Print at 100% (“actual size”), not “fit to page”, so the border keeps its margin.
- Thicker paper or card, 120 to 200 gsm, looks far better than plain copier paper.
- Most home printers can’t print right to the paper edge, which is why the design leaves a margin.
- If a print shop is doing it, ask for the PDF to be printed on A4 landscape.
What you can change
Everything. Move or delete boxes, change the colours and fonts, add your own logo as a picture, or add a second page. Your work is saved in your browser as you go, and you can download a .altto project file to carry on later on the same or another device.
Looking for other designs? The same editor has flyer, newsletter, menu, invitation, calendar and business card templates, and it can open old .pub files too.
