Quick answer: open the free greeting card template in Altto Layout, change the message and your name, then save it as a PDF and print it on A5 card. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and nothing is uploaded.
A home-made card means more than a shop-bought one, and it takes about five minutes. This is an original A5 card with two pages: a bright front with a big “Happy Birthday” and an inside page with a short message and a place for your name. Change the words and it works for a thank-you, a congratulations or a get-well card.

How to make your card
- Click Open the greeting card template. The editor opens with the front of the card on page 1 and the inside on page 2.
- Double-click the big words on the front to change them (for example to “Thank you” or “Congratulations”).
- Go to page 2 and write your own message, then replace “Your name” with yours.
- Choose PDF to save it, or PNG/JPG to send the front as a picture.
Printing and folding
- The page is A5 (148 x 210 mm). Print it on A5 card, or on A4 card at 100% and trim to size.
- For a folded card, print page 1 and page 2 on separate sheets and glue them back to back, or send the PDF to a print shop.
- Thicker card, 200 to 300 gsm, feels much more like a real card than copier paper.
- For an e-card, save the PNG or JPG: it opens on any phone without an app.
Other designs in the same editor: certificate, 2027 calendar, flyer, newsletter, invitation, menu and business card. It can also open old .pub files.
