Quick answer: open the free business card template in Altto Layout, type over the sample name and contact details with your own, then save it as a PDF to print or send to a printer. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and nothing is uploaded.
Publisher was a popular way to make a quick business card. This is an original card at the standard UK size of 85 x 55 mm, with a teal side stripe, your name and trade, three lines of contact details and a small circle you can recolour or delete. The name, number and email are placeholders, so replace every line.

How to make your card
- Click Open the business card template. The editor opens with the sample card on the page.
- Double-click the name and the line under it to put in your own name and what you do.
- Double-click the contact lines to add your phone number, email and website.
- Change the colours and fonts from the side panel, then choose PDF.
Tips for a card that prints well
- Keep text at least 3 mm in from the edge so nothing is trimmed off when the cards are cut.
- Check the phone number and email twice. A typo on 500 printed cards is an expensive mistake.
- If a printer asks for bleed (extra colour past the edge), ask them for their exact setup. The stripe here sits on the edge of the card.
- To print at home, use A4 card stock and cut to size, or send the PDF to an online or high-street printer.
Other designs in the same editor: certificate, 2027 calendar, flyer, newsletter, invitation, menu and greeting card. It can also open old .pub files.
