Quick answer: open the free newsletter template in Altto Layout, replace the title, headline and articles with your own, then save it as a PDF to print or email. It runs in your browser, needs no sign-up and nothing is uploaded.
Publisher was the usual choice for club, school, church and residents’ newsletters. This is an original two-page A4 newsletter: a coloured masthead, a lead story in two columns that flows on to page 2, a “dates for your diary” box and a notices section. The text is linked between boxes, so when you add more words they carry on to the next column and page by themselves.
How to make your newsletter
- Click Open the newsletter template. The editor opens with the sample newsletter on two pages.
- Double-click the title, issue line and headline and type your own.
- Replace the sample article by selecting the text and typing or pasting yours. It flows through the columns and on to page 2.
- Update the diary dates and notices, change the colours and fonts from the side panel, and add photos as pictures.
- Choose PDF to print or email it.
Tips for a newsletter people finish
- Lead with the one thing most readers care about, and keep other items to a few lines each.
- Put dates somewhere easy to find. The diary box is there for that.
- Email it as a PDF so it looks the same on every phone and computer.
- For a printed copy, print double-sided at 100% (“actual size”).
Other designs in the same editor: certificate, 2027 calendar, flyer, menu, invitation and business card. It can also open old .pub files.
